Meeting the new Counselor

Posted on Thu Apr 23rd, 2020 @ 2:28pm by Lieutenant Marina Kelea & Commodore Jack Pike

Mission: Mission 3 Ghost Station
Location: Ready Room

Marina arrived outside the Captain’s ready room, she was glad to finally be up in her feet. She was still a little short on energy especially after having organised her office instead of putting her feet up and going over personnel files and evaluations. She straightened her uniform before pressing the door chime.

Hearing Pike call from inside she walked into the office and smiled warmly. “Lieutenant Marina Vaal, Chief Counsellor reporting for duty Commander.”

Jack looked up from a pad he was working on "Good to see that you are finally up and about Lieutenant."

"It's nice to be up and about Sir" Marina paused infront of the desk. "I don't even know who I came in contact with to get Rigelian Fever but it's an experience I'd rather not repeat! Being joined the poor doctor had two patients in one body."

Jack held out his hand "Please have a seat Lieutenant. I have read the full report from the doctor, that Rigelian fever is some nasty stuff."

“That it is Sir” Marina gratefully took a seat. “I’m still a bit weak at the knees, as the saying goes but I feel a lot better than I did. As far as I know I don’t have any permanent damage, the doctor will call me if there’s anything in my final test results.”

"Understandable that you would be, I am sure that it had taken quite a bit out of you." Jack said "Hopefully there wasn't any permanent damage."

“I’m just glad to be back to work Sir. I feel guilty for getting sick on arrival aboard my new ship!” Marina smiled. “I’d like to get back to work so I thought I’d see what I’ve missed out on.”

Jack shrugged "You didn't miss too much really, I was kidnapped by a rouge Star Fleet officer who turned out to be working for the Chaos Military."

“You call that not missing much?!” Marina gave Jack a surprised look. “You’re a master of understatement Sir. It can’t have been easy for you, have you spoken to anyone about it?”

Jack shrugged "That was our latest mission, and there is no need to speak to anyone about it, I am fine."

“As ships Counsellor I’d be remiss in my duties if I didn’t ask about it Sir, however that can wait until your evaluation which I’m afraid will be top of my list!” She smiled. “Is there anything you require me for on our current assignment?” Marina looked at Jack curiously. “I am empathic and partially telepathic, mainly line of sight or touch Telepathy.”

"When I need someone to talk about it I will let you know Lieutenant." Jack shook his head "Just try to get to know the crew as much when you can."

“Yes Sir” Marina nodded. “I aim to get on with my duties as soon as possible. I’m a lot further behind than I wanted to be at this point.”

Jack nodded "Very well Lieutenant, unless you have anything else you are dismissed."

Marina stood ready to depart. “It’s been nice meeting you Sir” with that she headed on her way.
